This course is designed to teach various methods of using gouache or watercolour to illustrate a botanical subject successfully. We begin with drawing and composition, following through to colour mixing and application. Gouache is used to build up a more opaque finish and lets you work light colour or white highlights over the top of darker ones. It depends on the subject matter as to which way is appropriate. This course helps you look at your subject and observe details in an enjoyable environment – a relaxed class with individual assistance throughout the weekend.
