Old Doors, Locks and Latches – Sketching and Watercolour
Start: 16th February 2013 at 9:30am
End: 16th February 2013 at 4:30pm
This workshop will provide exciting subject matter for the more experienced artist, or those fairly new to drawing and painting, to explore line, tone and especially texture, with a view to producing exciting and realistic effects in their paintings. We will concentrate on weathered doors, crumbling walls and rust stained locks, exploiting a range of textural effects to achieve a realistic interpretation of this subject matter. As well as learning a wide range of brush techniques we will also use some tricks of the trade to help extend our artistic repertoires; these will include wax resist, indenting, spattering and texturing with sand and salt, but the emphasis will be on improving and extending your drawing and painting skills.
