Taking Better Pictures with a Digital Camera

For students completely new to digital photography and photographers who wish to improve their technique. Bring your own digital camera or borrow one from us. The weekend will concentrate on taking photographs (not image manipulation on a computer) and will look at the basics of picture taking beyond the convenience of the Auto button. Topics include image resolution and quality, taking control of exposure, correcting colour casts with the white balance control and taking pictures in low-light without flash. Following tuition there will be a field trip in the grounds of Farncombe Estate showing good and poor compositional viewpoints and finally, an in-depth review of students’ photographs using digital projection.
