Recorder Double Dutch!

The weekend is for competent players of recorders (Descant through Bass) who have experience of ensemble and one-to-a-part playing. The music will be original recorder works and arrangements of orchestral/vocal pieces by Dutch composers such as Josquin, Sweelinck, De Fesch, Leenhouts and Haverkate. It will cover the variety of approaches to music found in this Recorder repertoire. Players of Great and Contra Bass recorder are also welcome. Good sight-reading ability is required along with the confidence to change instruments. Performance practice, technique and ensemble skills will be covered. A music list will be available on request. Students are required to be able to play at least three different sizes of recorder to a competent level.

Making Music Tutor
Andrew is one of the country’s leading recorder players and in demand as a performer and tutor at events across the United Kingdom. He studied with Paul Clark and Philip Thorby. He has coached courses at all levels and in a wealth of music from Early to modern and beyond. He is an experienced adjudicator and has begun examining for Trinity/Guildhall.
