Sitting on the side of the Cotswold escarpment, Farncombe provides a perfect base for walks with wonderful views, delightful villages and varied habitats for flora and fauna. This weekend offers some serious exercise – the Cotswolds may only be “hills” but there are plenty of ups and downs – about 4,500 ft in total. Walks have been planned by members of the Cotswold Voluntary Wardens who have provided fascinating and helpful information about the sights you see along the way.

This course will be self-led,  being run as a group of individuals wishing to Walks the Wolds.  All the relevant maps and details for the walks will provided on arrival.  Transport will be provided where necessary.

Friday evening will be spent getting to know your fellow walkers. On Saturday you will be transported to Stanway, a fantastic house and estate, and walk back to Farncombe along a circuitous 10 miles of views and delightful villages

The Sunday walk is again 10 miles, this time in a circle from Farncombe, and following much of the route featured in the Country Walking magazine as a “best country walk” (except we think we have made it even better!)

On the Monday the walk is through the site of the historic “Cotswold Olympicks” on Dovers Hill with magnificent views. If time and weather are suitable we may go a little further and pass through Chipping Campden, one of the most visited villages in the Cotswolds, and for good reason. The distance on Monday will be between 5 and 8 miles.
