Watercolour Painting: The Language Of Painting; The Marks You Make
Start: 8th February 2013 at 6:00pm
End: 10th February 2013 at 2:00pm
Tutor: Roger Jones
Drawing with pencil or brush with skill and dexterity is fundamental, however you paint. The marks you make are the ‘words’ of your painting language, especially effective when combined with Roger Jones’s seven essential priorities in your approach. You will explore, even question, aspects of drawing and with them the importance of tone. The jigsaw shapes of light and darker areas are so vital to all aspects of perspective and composition, and this course will help to unlock your problems with them too. In this context we will explore the intriguing and surprising potential – and challenge – of making tonal sketches using one or two colours, and then three primary colours and their coloured look-alikes. Essential materials will be provided on loan at no extra cost by the tutor.
