Watercolour Painting: Shadows: The Revealers Of Three Dimensions
Start: 15th February 2013 at 6:00pm
End: 17th February 2013 at 2:00pm
Where the sun doesn’t shine there is still light! Illuminated by ‘shadow light’, the same once-bright and colourful sunlit surfaces assume a different tone and colour. Where does this shadow light comes from and how colourful can it – and should it – be? Crucially, its shade also reveals the shapes of your subject, subtle or strong, and completes the illusion of the three dimensions that you can capture on a two dimensional sheet of paper! Using sunlit subjects from home and abroad we will see how important and colourful shadows are. Paper, paints, brushes, pens and pencils will be provided on loan by the tutor.
